Born on the 11st Dic 1914, Toronto, Toronto Municipality, Ontario, Canada;
Son of Walter Henry and Ann Jarvis;
Husband of Betty Jean Jarvis, of Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario;
Frederick enlisted on the 30th of May 1942 in Toronto.

Trooper Frederick Sturdee Jarvis, Ontario Regiment. Born on 11 December 1914 in Toronto, Ontario and died as a result of an accident on 25 August 1943.
Lance Corporal Donaldson was one of the witnesses when the accident occurred near Scordia:

"I am Lance Corporal H. Donaldson of the 11th Canadian Army Tank Regiment. I am the driver of tank no 147477.
While preceeding on a test run, I was driving along a metalled road at approximately 10-15 miles per hour. I crossed a small bridgeand was making a turn on the far side when the tank skidded slightly. The right track gave way on the soft shoulder of the ditch. The tank ran headlong on to a small tree, which slowed it up slightly. The tank then overbalanced and rolled completely over to the right down the side of the bank and righted itself at the bottom.
When the tank came to rest I made certain that Trooper Veitch, who was my co-driver was uninjured. I then climbed out of the tank, up on to the turret and searched it for Trooper Jarvis who was acting as crew commander. He was not in the turret and on further search I saw him lying on the left side of the tank about 2 feet from the track. At the same time a first aid man arrived with a first aid kit. The first aid man examined Trooper Jarvis and then gave instructions to cover him with a blanket, which was done."
Frederick served in A-Squadron of the Ontario Regiment. He was initially buried in Scordia and later reburied at Agira Canadian War Cemetery.
Frederick was married to Elizabeth Jean Jarvis and together they had one son, Jonathon, who was born in 1941. Before the was Frederick was a radio broadcasting director. Besides his wife and son he also left his parents and two sisters behind.
