Hi,this is my great uncle, my grandfather\'s brother, and he could speak 6 languages and he was a Sargent and was in the British intelligent core. He was on the Ottawa Trek in 1935. I asked my grandfather and he does not know which medals he was awarded but he got quite a few. He is also the soldier on The Province newspaper picture the third one back.

I believe Joe was my cousin who came from the New Hill district in Alberta. My father told me that Joe could speak five languages and that he thoght that Joe was a tanker who was killed entering the town. As I understand it, the german tanks took out a few of the first tanks coming into the street. Not sure if this is what happened but if anyone knows I would sure appreciate any info. Proud of all the men who died to defend liberty. God bless them all.
